Producing genuine Opuntia ficus-indica seed oil is a remarkably intensive process. Approximately one tonne of cactus fruit is needed to produce around 25 kilograms of seeds and close to one million individual seeds are required to press just one litre of this precious oil!
The fruit is harvested before the tiny seeds are carefully separated, cleaned and dried. They are then cold-pressed at low temperatures to preserve the naturally occurring lipids, antioxidants and nutrients found within the oil.
The result is a beautifully lightweight, fast-absorbing facial oil that deeply nourishes the skin without leaving a heavy or greasy residue.
